Software
Of our 400 people in Waterford, over 180 are involved in software development across a broad range of technologies. They are engaged in projects with colleagues across the company's international operations.
Software projects are typically focused on the re-engineering, enhancement and replacement of existing financial applications for life assurance, client services, pensions, annuities, and data warehousing systems. Sun Life Financial Ireland teams provide services at all stages of the software life cycle, from project feasibility through development, to production support.
Helpdesk
Our Helpdesk commenced operations in April 1999. Providing 24/7 support to over 10,000 Sun Life Financial employees in the United States and Canadian offices, the Helpdesk operates in English and in French.
We troubleshoot problems on all MS Office applications, Lotus Notes, Windows NT, Novell Networks, as well as our Mainframe system. Problems can range from simple access requests or password changes to complex network IS.
Business administration
Our Business Support Centre provides business administration services to our Life and Annuities divisions within the US business.
Specifically, we have teams working on verification of insurance coverage, renewal of claim requests, analysis of policy provisions, processing withdrawals, fund transfers and exchanges, death benefit requests and maintenance work on client accounts.
