Annual salary review
Salaries are reviewed annually to ensure that Sun Life Ireland Information Services Ireland Ltd. offers market-competitive pay. By consulting technical salary surveys, evaluating market trends, pay for performance culture and adjusting your salary accordingly, we will ensure that you are receiving the salary you deserve for the role and responsibilities you undertake.

Bonus scheme
Since Sun Life Ireland opened operations in Waterford, we have offered every employee the opportunity to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan. The Plan rewards employees for both Company and individual performance during a calendar year and is paid annually in March.

Pension scheme
Upon completion of the 6 month probationary period, you will be invited to join our Company Pension Scheme. The Company will make a minimum contribution equivalent to 3% of your salary up to a maximum of 6% and you will have the option to contribution from 3% of your salary up to 5%. You may also elect to make additional voluntary contributions (AVCs) in order to augment your retirement benefits. Within this defined contribution scheme, a range of investment options is offered. You will then be entitled to a tax-free cash sum at your retirement date, and a pension payable to yourself for life.

Health insurance
We offer a choice of Health Insurance from Laya, VHI or Aviva so that employees can choose the provider that most suits their needs. This is provided to employees and their dependants on a 50% cost share basis.

Life assurance
Each employee is covered on commencement of employment for 3 times their basic salary.

Dependents' pension
In addition, your spouse or other nominated dependents will continue to receive a pension of 30% of your salary from your retirement fund.

Disability insurance
The Company has a Long Term Disability Benefits Plan to provide for two thirds of your annual salary to be paid to you if you are absent from work for a period in excess of 26 weeks due to injury or illness.

Illness salary protection
Upon completion of the 6 month probationary period, for absences due to illness, the company will pay your full salary for the first 4 weeks in a rolling 12-month period. This benefit is at company discretion.

Flexible working
We are committed to enhancing the work/life balance of our staff. Within our Software departments and our support functions, our flexible working system affords staff discretion in managing their hours of work. Our core hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flexibility operating outside those hours. Staff can take hours they have built up over a period at a later stage. Employees working in our Business Operations and Service Desk areas work on a shift basis where notice of working arrangements is given up to 3 weeks in advance.

Annual leave
In addition to the standard 20 days annual leave provided by legislation, we offer 2 additional days annual leave per calendar year upon commencement of employment. Your annual leave entitlement continues to increase to a maximum of 25 days in recognition of your service.

Education scheme
We are committed to supporting the continuous development of our staff. Should you undertake education that is deemed relevant to your role and responsibilities, Sun Life reimburses 75% of the cost of tuition fees and provides for study and exam leave for approved studies. We also offer subsidised funding for courses such as the MSc Enterprise Business Systems at the Waterford Institute of Technology.

Computer purchase scheme
The Company offers each employee an easy and convenient way to purchase a personal computer of their choice by means of repayments which are deducted through payroll over a set period of time. This scheme is subject to Benefit in Kind tax.

The Sports and Social club is open to all employees and is a great way for our various teams in the organisation to get together once in a while! The Sports and Social Club is financed 50% by the Company and boasts a wide range of events to suit all types of people.
