We have almost 300 people working across the software development lifecycle across a broad range of technologies. They are engaged in projects with colleagues across the company's international operations that are typically focused on the re-engineering, enhancement and replacement of existing financial applications. Sun Life Financial Ireland teams provide services at all stages of the software life cycle from project feasibility through development to production support.

Technologies, including tools, languages and applications of particular interest, include JAVA, J2EE, EJB, Apache, TomCat, Javascript, Flex, Ajax, XML, HTML, DBMS, Query Analyser, Test application Quality Centre, QTP, Selenium, Bug Zero, MS SQL, COBOL, VSAM, CICS, DB2 JCL, TSO, Cold Fusion, Visual Basic, VB Script, C#, Reporting and ETL tools such as Business Objects, Crystal, LOGIXML, Microsoft DTS, SSIS, Powercentre Informatica.

Our Business Administration team provides financial administration services for both our US business and International business.

We have a variety of back office administrative teams working on death benefit requests, processing withdrawals, fund transfers and maintenance work on client accounts. Our International team specifically provides high level customer support to our high net worth clients based outside of North America. This team of dedicated specialists communicate with customers through inbound and outbound calls to clarify customer requests and provide back office administrative work either in English and other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi.

The Service Desk, established in Waterford in 1999, is the IT support hub for 28,000 of our Sun Life Financial colleagues across the globe - supporting their IT needs 24/7. Our award winning Service Desk is positioned at the centre of the employee experience. We are a client focussed team of IT professionals supporting all applications and hardware used by Sun Life employees.
