At Sun Life we have a continued focus on our employees Well Being. We have a dedicated Wellness program which focuses on 4 key areas and operates both on and off site events on a regular basis. Our 4 areas of focus are: Health and Well Being, Wellness Education, Making Life Easier and Enabling Wellness. In addition we run our Annual Wellness Week, a Benefits week and a Men’s Health Week. These events allow for us to work with external vendors to provide easy of access to Well Being Services, for example the Flu Jab, Sports Massage and Heart Checks.

We aim to support and educate our employees through various presentations from our external partners with a recent focus on Positive Mental Health in the Workplace. We provided informative and thought provoking sessions on Cognitive Behavioural therapies and also tips on how to manage your nutrition to aid your mental health. We have worked with our Health Insurance partners to provide presentation’s and demonstrations on topical Medical matters such as Men’s Health, Breast Cancer and Cervical cancer to name a few.

We also take part in Global programs such as our Teams for Health program which allows employees who are participating in health related charitable events to be sponsored by the Company.

Our employee well being is a priority for us at Sun Life for both our employees and the communities in which we live and work.

“I partnered with Sun Life on numerous occasions over the last couple of years to deliver workshops on Wellness in the Workplace to both Managers and employees. I felt that as employers Sun Life are very proactive in terms of supporting their employees Well being, as they listened to feedback, and provided more specific training around the language and understanding of Mental Health issues, as staff requested. As a result, Sun Life is helping reduce stigma, and improve knowledge around mental health, stress management as well as general wellbeing. As a Health Care Professional, to see a company being so progressive in all these areas of Mental Health is fantastic.”

“I was asked to deliver presentations recently with Sun Life employees which focused on eating well for positive Mental Health.  I found that Sun Life really cared about their employees general well being and to provide a subsidy towards nutritional advice, really showed their commitment to their teams mental well-being and long-term health. There is a real sense of nurturing a culture of health promotion at Sun Life and I find this very inspiring. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every presentation I have delivered there and find their teams to be very engaged.
